Learning and Teaching Officer

  • Part time (4 days/week) 12 month fixed term opportunity; base salary $84K-$90K p.a. plus superannuation

About the opportunity 

The Sydney Medical Program (SMP) is a graduate entry medicine course with an annual intake of approximately 300 students (220-230 domestic, 70-80 international).  We are now seeking to appoint a Learning and Teaching Officer to provide broad range of education administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the Doctor of Medicine Program.

This role is part-time (0.8 FTE) which is equivalent to 4 days per week. There is flexibility in which 4 working days you prefer to work.

About you

  • experience delivering education programmers, preferably in a tertiary education environment
  • experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas
  • sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities
  • extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment

The Learning and Teaching Officer will be working in a fast paced and dynamic environment so we’re looking for candidates with excellent communication, workload management and problem-solving skills.

About us

The SMP is part of the wider Faculty of Medicine and Health. The SMP has undergone internal and external reviews in 2015 and the time is right to revise and renew the curriculum to fit the needs of patients, health services and students. The new curriculum will be implemented from 2020. The SMP is delivered on main campus and within a large number of urban and rural clinical sites in hospital and community environments. The Learning and Teaching Officer will work under guidance from the Foundations Studies Coordinator, the Clinical Skills Coordinator, the MD Program Administrator and the Co-directors of the Medical Program and academic teams to ensure smooth delivery of the Sydney Medical Program.
