About the opportunity
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake high-quality research focused on understanding behavioural addictions, particularly related to emerging technologies, and minimising related harms in the broad community. The strategic direction of the Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic (GTRC) has broadened to include a focus on risky behaviours and decision-making related to emerging technologies, including online gambling and gaming and other potential behavioural addictions. The research aims related to this opportunity are to identify and understand relevant behaviours and decision-making processes and develop and evaluate interventions and strategies to enhance well-being and minimise harms. The GTRC puts a strong priority on empirically rigorous research that has real-world applications and works closely with relevant stakeholders across key sectors. The GTRC has many collaborative links with leading international researchers.
The expanding strategic direction of the GTRC will be assisted through the recruitment of a Postdoctoral Research Association. This position intends to assist the Research Associate to launch their academic career and provide experience that will enhance their career prospects and develop them as a potential research leader. Many opportunities are available for Early Career Researchers through the Brain and Mind Centre, School of Psychology, and University of Sydney.
