  • Base Salary: $73,358 p.a. - $82,136 p.a. Level 5, plus leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation.  

About the opportunity 

Reporting to the Dr Mark Larance, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and operational support to the Chief Investigator and the team to support research activity. This includes preparing relevant materials in collaboration with team members, performing fundamental aspects of research work, and facilitating the efficient operation of the research laboratory by providing essential technical and operational support. The incumbent will be expected to coordinate the activities associated with research projects, and work towards ensuring that experiments/etc are prepared for and run smoothly. This includes ensuring that all work is carried out within the Work, Health and Safety standards, animal ethics and human ethics guidelines. When working in a laboratory, this may also include responsibility for any lab work carried out by students, providing teaching support (in terms of demonstrations in tutorials/practicals) and preparation of equipment for experiments.

  • Tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline and/or relevant experience in related field. May have postgraduate qualifications.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative
  • Experience in working with mice in an experimental setting
