About the opportunity 

This role provides high level administrative and operational support to Research Grants and Contracts (RGC) including responding to complex queries, reviewing and updating administrative processes for the team, coordinating organisation of meetings, workshops and events. The incumbent will manage formal stakeholder communications, maintain accurate records of RGC activities and provide data analysis support to prepare regular reports on work outcomes.

In this position, you will:

  • manage general administrative services and operational support to Research Grants and Contracts (RGC)
  • manage communications, record keeping, provide data analysis support and reporting for RGC
  • coordinate diaries, meetings and events and provide workshop support for RGC.

  • tertiary qualifications in business administration or related field with relevant experience in business administration and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills together with a high level of tact, diplomacy and discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • working knowledge of software programs such as NHMRC RGMS, ARC RMS, Hyperion Reporting System, Concur, Records Management, and Content Management Systems
  • strong problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to prepare reports from analysis of complex data
  • administrative experience in the education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organization
