About the opportunity 

The Professor of Clinical Neurosciences will provide leadership in research and teaching within the Brain and Mind Centre, and more broadly in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The successful applicant will have an internationally competitive research program, and deep understanding of the assessment and characterisation of neurodegenerative disorders and the genetic factors contributing to these diseases.

The successful applicant will also be part of the leadership team of interdisciplinary research centres of the University of Sydney, including the Brain and Mind Centre, Camperdown where the position and research support are located. The Professor of Clinical Neurosciences will be assigned to one more of the academic and clinical schools within the Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Term and remuneration

The successful applicant will be offered a full-time continuing position, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Clinical activities within one of the clinical schools will be in accord with the Senior Medical Practitioners Clinical Academics award arrangements as they apply in NSW and will be under the LHD’s governance.
