About the opportunity 

A vacancy has arisen to work within the Research Reporting Analysis and Data Systems (RRADS) Department. As an Associate Director – External Benchmarks, you will be responsible for leading and managing the University’s relationship with external benchmarking companies and Government to optimize he University’s rankings aligned to the strategic University goals. Having excellent communication skills, the incumbent will lead the University engagement and negotiations with key external benchmarking agencies, and work with them to align their requirements with the University’s data collection, analysis and reporting systems. You will be required to facilitate research benchmarking surveys and responses for external benchmarking agencies, as well as reporting to the University Executive Research committee on key benchmarking provider requirements, trends and interpretations.

We are looking for an Associate Director, External Benchmarks who possesses demonstrated expertise in:

• Strategic management and planning, and being able to design, develop and translate strategic initiatives into operational practices
• Ability to provide reporting and strategic advice to key internal and external stakeholders
• Leading the collection and delivery of data sets, as well as initiating enhancements and modifications to systems and data sets as required

The successful candidate will apply extensive experience, judgement and professional knowhow to make strategic benchmarking decisions in relation to the university and aspirational benchmarking outcomes.

1. Research Development and Collaboration leads the  development and implementation of research strategies, policies, programs and projects, for the university and individual researchers and research groups
2. Commercial Development and Industry Partnerships leads the development and implementation of research commercialisation strategies, policies, programs and projects, for the university and individual researchers and research groups
3. Research Grants and Contracts leads the design and delivery of services, systems  and processes  to support researchers apply for and comply with conditions of grants and funding
4. Research Integrity and Ethics Administration leads the design and delivery of services, systems and processes to establish and maintain researcher and institutional compliance with standards and codes of conduct relevant to research
5. Research Reporting, Analysis, Data & Systems leads the development and maintenance of research data sets and systems to enable analysis and reporting on the research capability of the University.
