About the opportunity 

An opportunity has become available for a Project Officer to work within the Australian Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology (AINST).

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of AINST, the role will provide general project and administrative support, and coordinating the implementation and delivery of a range of identified AINST projects to meet established milestones and deliverables.

The position will support activities of the AINST Research Strategy, which involves implementing programs and events as well as managing work-stream stakeholders and communications.

A core component of the role will be the ability to produce well-articulated reports and development of communications strategies conveying scientific content.

  • managing the development and implementation of work stream project plans
  • preparing reports and communication strategies conveying scientific content
  • implementing project governance and reporting procedures to monitor project delivery
  • ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

AINST is a world-class institute that seeks to discover and harness new science on the nanoscale. Currently, the institute focuses on three themes - energy and environment; health and medicine; and communications, computing and security - and four domains - materials on the nanoscale; molecular nanoscience; nanophotonics; and quantum science.

AINST is headquartered in the Sydney Nanoscience Hub, a new building with state-of-the-art facilities in photonics, quantum science, nanostructure fabrication and high-resolution microscopy. AINST also maintains a presence in other facilities across the University, where research in related fields of nanoscience is conducted.
