About the opportunity 

Reporting to the HR Administration Coordinator in the Faculty of Science, in this role you will provide administrative support in relation to HR matters in consultation with the senior supervisors. The administrative support varies from preparing confidential appointment paperwork for School appointments, to responding complex queries to tracking progress of paperwork, to name a few. You will use your stakeholder management and problem solving skills to provide assistance to the hiring managers, academic colleagues and other administrative staff in Schools on HR processes and policies. Overall you will ensure the smooth operation of HR paperwork processing and documentations for the Schools within the Faculty.

To be considered, you will possess:

  • Certificate IV in business administration or equivalent with relevant business administration experience, and experience in delivery of the administration of Human Resources services
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling a wide range of enquiries and providing excellent customer service
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work.
  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills
  • strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • experience in creating and maintaining effective administrative systems
