About the opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Manager, Research Data Operations to join our Research Reporting Analysis and Data Systems (RRADS) group and lead the research information program of work around the systems, storage, support and distribution of operational data sets and reporting to portfolio business units and teams within RRADS. You will lead a team of professionals responsible for administering enterprise wide research applications, technical and user support functions, analysis of system application bugs and escalation of issues to ICT or vendor as appropriate.

In partnership with the Director, RRADS you will actively participate in university professional services unit technical advisory groups to ensure delivery of portfolio projects are in line with research excellence and simplification initiatives that underpin university strategic goals.

  • leadership and management, both human resource and financial management
  • data analysis, data management, information interpretation, presentation and reporting
  • developing and implementing projects and processes across large organisations
  • contributing to strategy and policy development and implementation
  • assimilating and distilling complex information and communicating key concepts
  • Australian Higher Education policy frameworks and their relationship to research performance indicators and funding.

The Research Reporting Analytics and Data Systems (RRADS) group is responsible for providing university wide reports and strategic information on research and research performance, managing government required reporting programmes (ERA, HERDC, SRE), managing data acquisition, coordinates application and system development to support business processes and requirements by developing and managing the data collection, analysis and reporting of the University’s research performance, including external obligations, and internal absolute research performance reporting for the university funding model.
