About the Opportunity

The QTU is seeking an experienced Research Assistant to join the Research Services section based in Milton. This is a permanent, part-time role (21hrs/week) , reporting to the Deputy General Secretary (Member Services). Days and times are negotiable. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing educational and industrial relations research assistance to Officers of the QTU. 
  • Assisting Industrial and Educational developments and programs by locating relevant legislation, regulations and research material.
  • Developing and designing member surveys and analysing survey data to support QTU initiatives and programs.
  • Providing research support in the areas of; curriculum and professional issues, education funding and organisation, and teacher salaries and conditions.

About You

To be successful in this position you will have: 

  • Experience in research methodologies. 
  • Expertise in the use of spreadsheets, data manipulation, and the development and analysis of surveys.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Legal, Education or a relevant discipline.
