The role is full-time on a continuing basis and can be based at either of our beautiful campuses in tropical North Queensland, the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus or the Cairns Nguma-bada campus. An attractive remuneration package of up to $131,979 per annum is on offer including superannuation and leave loading.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
Leading the technical service delivery of JCU’s multi-site Internet Protocol (IP) network infrastructure, you’ll ensure the University’s network is functional and operational through the provision of effective leadership and third-level support, resolving highly complex technical issues and liaising with major vendors as required. This is an opportunity to lead and manage complex digital infrastructure projects and lifecycle replacement whilst contributing to the continual improvement of the infrastructure function, as you design and implement strategic solutions to enhance the University’s technical capabilities. With a focus on collaboration, respect and innovation, it will also be a rewarding opportunity to support the development of other staff within the team through coaching and mentoring, whilst assisting with identifying and addressing their career development needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
With a degree in Information Technology or a related field, you bring extensive experience in the operational management, implementation and servicing of IP switching, routing, firewalls, Wide Area Networking, data centre networking and wireless technologies as well as servers, storage and operating systems, in a large and complex enterprise environment. You’re a proven problem solver with high-level analytical skills relating to complex network or systems environments. Your advanced project management skills have enabled your track record of delivering successful large ICT infrastructure projects. You bring demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team to deliver operational services in a fast-paced environment, fostering a culture of high-performance, teamwork and innovation. Exceptional organisational and administrative skills along with high-level communication and interpersonal skills will also be essential to succeed in this engaging and rewarding role.
