You will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to Trauma Service patients, both in terms of individual performance and by providing clinical leadership and contribution to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. Responsible for the immediate, consistent and accurate assessment and management of severely injured trauma patients, you will be expected to assist the Trauma Team Leader and facilitate patients’ journey through the hospital. As part of your role, you will have an active involvement in teaching Medical Students and Trainee Medical Officers and, where appropriate, Nursing and Allied Health staff. You will also participate in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities, along with research and continuous medical education activities. Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner. Having completed Basic Life Support (BLS) training and demonstrating clinical experience in Trauma medicine, you will bring the ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting. Past experience in the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff will be ideal.
