The Victorian Government has announced it will ‘take performance pay off the negotiating table’ in a bid to resolve the ongoing teachers pay dispute.

Premier Denis Napthine said that the decision was a significant move towards settling the teachers enterbriase bargaining agreement (EBA) dispute which has seen steady stream of industrial disputes launched by the Australian Education Union (AEU).

“This significant move will greatly assist EBA negotiations by allowing the parties to focus on resolving the EBA in the immediate term,” Dr Napthine said.

“We now look to the AEU to embrace that same approach in order to reach a productive and responsible outcome that is good for students, teachers, parents and Victorian taxpayers.”
