The Tasmanian Government has announced a series of consultations on the rview of the role and function of Tasmania’s public vocational education and training providers.

 

“Virginia Simmons AO, has been appointed by the Minister for Education & Skills to undertake the independent review and will consult widely with individuals and organisations.

 

“The regional consultations will provide an opportunity for a range of views on issues central to the Review to be shared among stakeholders.

 

“Community and stakeholder consultation on this Review is an important part of the process, and everyone who wants to contribute to the debate needs to have that opportunity.”

 

Ms Simmons is the director of Virsis Consulting, a former director and CEO of the Chisholm Institute of TAFE and a Deputy Vice Chancellor (TAFE) and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Industry Relationships) at Swinburne University of Technology.

 

She will provide a report by April 2012.
