South Australia has announced that over 10,000 new training places, worth over $16 million to the state economy, will be generated to meet increasing employer demand.

 

State Employment, Higher Education and Skills Minister, Tom Kenyon, said the places had been generated n response to the strong demand for applications for training places through the final round of the Federal Government’s Productivity Places Program for Job Seekers.

 

“The main South Australian industry sectors to benefit through this final round include Health andCommunity Services; Building and Construction; Business and Financial Services; and Wholesale Retailand Personal Services,” Mr Kenyon said.

 

“This allocation will fund 5,034 nationally endorsed training places for job seekers at Certificate II level;4,522 at Certificate III level; 840 at Certificate IV level and 282 at Diploma level.”

 

The announcement forms part of the State Government’s $194 million productivity program that will aim t support an additional 100,000 places in the next six years.
