Child safety campaigners Bruce and Denise Morcombe have launched a mobile phone app to help parents track their children.

The app alerts parents if their child strays outside a pre-determined safe ‘play area’.

It also sends a warning if a child starts to travel faster than expected, indicating they might be in a car.

The app is called Amego, and was developed by Australian firm Appfactory in partnership with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

The Morcombes say the app will give parents greater peace of mind, and give children more independence.
