Close to $23 million has reportedly been put aside for a new University College in New South Wales.

The new college is to be based in Gosford, with negotiations underway for 300 additional Commonwealth Support Places to service it.

The Federal Minister for Higher Education, Senator Kim Carr and Robertson MP, Deborah O'Neill said this week that the funding has already been set aside for the project, and it will now be able to move ahead. Plans have been approved following a feasibility study last month.

Ms O’Neill says as well as the boost for local industries, Gosford students stand to benefit greatly: “By putting in place an easier pathway to tertiary studies right in the middle of Gosford, our students will have a site in our CBD where they can connect to the future they seek,” she said.
