Charges have been laid after the second stabbing at a Brisbane school in the last two weeks.

A 16-year-old boy will face juvenile court charged with unlawful wounding and intent to cause grievous bodily harm after he allegedly stabbed a 14-year-old schoolmate on Wednesday morning.

Police allege the two were involved in a fight when the 14-year-old was stabbed in the chest, he was taken to hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

The older boy, who suffered minor injuries, also faces two counts of common assault when he appears before the courts.

This week’s attack follows a similar event last week wherein another teenager was charged with attempted murder over a school stabbing in Brisbane's north-west.
