The Queensland Government has announced a further $100 million in funding for the State’s schools to conduct urgent maintenance and capital works.

Premier Campbell Newman said the funding will be administered under the Fixing Our Schools program, and would come on top of the $200 million already committed under the fund.

Mr Newman said schools would still be able to stretch the extra maintenance funding further by going directly to market.

“Not only has my government provided this funding but we have also made it easier for schools to get the job done by untying maintenance from QBuild and opening it to private providers,” he said.
