We are seeking innovative, energetic and collaborative leaders like you, to join our new organisational structure and this role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Academic Services Division. This division delivers and evaluates information and research skills, development programs and online learning materials as well as managing rare books and special collections.

As Manager, Rare Books and Special Collections you will oversee traditional curatorial, collection development and asset management responsibilities. You will also enjoy a fantastic opportunity to develop creative ideas to raise the profile of the collections to support research, teaching and community engagement programs.

Your role will include designing and implementing digitisation programs to optimise collections exposure, as well as fundraising and related activities to enable programs to be delivered. You will also develop local provisions and guidelines to manage the University’s excellent rare books and special collections.

Your experience in developing, managing and curating rare books and special collections coupled with your ability to use technology to increase digital access and discoverability will set you apart.  You will see yourself as innovative and as someone who relishes the opportunity to create and develop ground-breaking initiatives and engagement programs. You will use your networking skills and entrepreneurial flair to develop project proposals and secure funding. Further, with three talented and enthusiastic direct reports your ability to develop and encourage high performing teams will be well utilised.
